We kept designing other people's products.
Then we started keeping some. Thinkedia Consulting Pvt Ltd began as a research and experience design practice. The practice is still here — it is no longer the whole company.
The shift
Consulting taught us the expensive part
Years of client work in hospitality, travel and enterprise gave us an unfair amount of evidence about how people choose a place — a hotel, a table, a desk, a weekend. The same failure repeated across very different businesses: the software was competent and the decision was still hard.
Consultancies hand that insight over and move on. At some point that stopped being satisfying. Building the product ourselves means carrying the consequences of our own recommendations — a slower business, and a more honest one.
So Thinkedia is now a group. The studio still takes clients. The products are ours.
